History

Kundalini Yoga Atlanta is committed to the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, who brought this technology to the West from India. He touched the hearts and opened the minds of people from all walks of life. We invite you to read more about the fascinating history of Yogi Bhajan and the beginnings of Kundalini Yoga here.

Kundalini Yoga Atlanta is a local branch of the non-profit global community called 3HO (Healthy, Happy, Holy Organization!) Together, our vision is to share the wisdom of Yogi Bhajan, to bring peace to the inner and outer lives of all people, beyond boundaries of race, religion, creed, nationality, sexual orientation, or gender.

Kundalini Yoga Atlanta owes its roots to several great leaders who established a community here a generation ago. Livtar Singh Khalsa and his wife Livtar Kaur Khalsa started the first Kundalini Yoga Ashram and Kundalini Yoga classes in the Little Five Points area of Atlanta in 1974. Mukta Kaur Khalsa and her husband Gurusahay Singh Khalsa began teaching Kundalini Yoga in Atlanta in 1974-5. They have brought The Aquarian Teacher Level 1 and Level 2 Teacher Training Certification to the Atlanta area starting in 1991.
